Pharmacy technicians are vital members of the healthcare team, working alongside pharmacists to provide safe and effective medication therapy to patients. A Pharmacy Technician program prepares students for this important role by providing comprehensive training in pharmacy operations, medication management, and patient care. Throughout the program, students gain a thorough understanding of the legal and ethical considerations related to pharmacy practice, as well as the importance of accuracy and attention to detail in medication dispensing and documentation. They also develop strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to effectively interact with patients, healthcare providers, and other members of the healthcare team. The curriculum typically includes courses in pharmacology, pharmaceutical calculations, medication safety, pharmacy law and regulations, and pharmacy operations.
